One of the toughest PGA tournaments of the year heads to Shinnecock Hills, New York on June 14-17, 2018.
Early US Open betting odds are out at Bovada and we have put together a summary of the current top favorites to win the 2018 US Open at Shinnecock.
What To Know About Shinnecock Hills
Since the 2004 US Open, Shinnecock Hills has been stretched out longer, sculpted with an increase in fairway bunkers and narrowed the fairways. With Shinnecock being a par-70 - 7,445 course, look for long but high driving accuracy golfers that have a solid putting game since the greens are notoriously fast when set up by the USGA.

Favorites To Win The 2018 US Open

Jordan Spieth may just be the best golfer on the PGA Tour right now and is generally the favorite to win most tourney’s he enters. He’s scuffled a bit the last two US Opens since his win in 2015 (35th and 37th place finishes) but that doesn’t mean you should count him out of a major.

DJ is playing really well in 2018 but just not playing as dominant as he did 2 years ago when he won the US Open. He has all the tools to win at Shinnecock so keep an eye on how he’s playing leading up to the 2nd major of the year and decide if he can win and cash in for you.

Another former US Open Champion who has the game to win but has been a bit off since his final Sunday at Augusta poor showing. Watch how he plays at the Memorial Tournament and then decide if he’s a guy you put on your betting ticket.

Thomas played really well up until the Masters and then has seemed to be good, but not great. Thomas won the PGA Championship last year and finished T9 at last year’s US Open so at 16-1 he brings some good betting value.

Day’s record at the US Open – 7 appearances, 5 Top 10’s, a 59th place finish and a MC last year. Day seems to have put personal and health issues behind him and is playing some really good golf in 2018. He’ll be a contender for the US Open at Shinnecock, at 14-1 odds he pays out nicely if he wins too!

Fowler made the final Sunday at Augusta pretty interesting with his putter doing a lot of the work. If his putter is talking a big game once again Fowler should be a contender at Shinnecock Hills.

Tiger Woods is listed as a favorite because he’s (a) Tiger Woods, (b) chasing a major, (c) played well since his comeback, or (d) All of the Above – The answer is probably (d) since all three other points are true. Woods has added motivation to play well since it’s a major, just not sure if this is the one that he wins.
